"Jerry organised my Stag do shoot. It was a real laugh with the lads and got pretty competitive too! My best man ended up getting the booby prize which was a 'Caution Complete Plonker' safety vest which we made him wear all night - hilarious!"

Jerry Parks

Jerry began shooting as a hobby in the 1980s and quickly progressed in the sport. After a while Jerry opened his own shoot near Gatwick in Surrey which taught him a great deal about how to run a successful shooting day; ensuring the safety of his customers and how to get the most fun out of a day's shooting.

In 1993 Jerry took his first coaching course with the CPSA and discovered a talent for teaching; he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience and watching his students improve so he continued to attend CSPA coaching courses until he reached the highest level in every discipline!

In 2001 Jerry joined the CPSA as Safety and Training Manager where he was instrumental in the complete redevelopment of the CPSA's Coaching, Referee and Safety Officer training programs as well as organising Training and Development courses for the Police and Army and Shotgun Instruction for the CFF. He also managed the CPSA's Ground Audits and Range Safety as well as giving talks at shooting grounds across the country.

Since leaving the CPSA in 2007 Jerry has focused his energy back to private tuition and shooting days as well as setting up his own member's club for country sportsmen Country Cover Club and selling shooting and country sports items online through his shop Shotgun Store.

Jerry is always happy to share his knowledge so if you have any questions relating to shooting he would be delighted to help; please contact him by email at or call on 0800 587 2823.
